Weekly Plans for February 17 -21, 2020

This week will be devoted to Vocabulary Quiz # 14 (Tuesday), and the beginning of the Macy's Project. Of course, diagramming sentences will be included in the weekly lessons for practice. Each student will receive a "packet" containing all the necessary information regarding the individual sections of the Macy's project (job application and rubric, persuasive essay and rubric, interview styles and techniques, and all necessary dates for completion of the various parts). There are NO CLASSES on Monday, February 17th, due to "Presidents' Day".

Monday: No Classes (Presidents' Day)

Tuesday: Vocabulary Quiz (usually scheduled for Fridays)

Wednesday: All students will receive a "Macy's Project Packet" We will go over the packet in its entirety, and make sure ALL students understand their responsibilities and the due dates.

Thursday: Today, we will be concentrating on the filling out, and completion of the application process. I recommend that all students make, at least, two (2) copies of the Macy's application. In the past, students have made mistakes, and, this allows them the opportunity to have a "clean" application to hand in when it is due.

Friday: Students will be given time, in class, to work on and "fine tune" their applications in preparation for next week's portion on the "persuasive essay".

Throughout the coming weeks, various sections of the Macy's project will be discussed, and I will be available for any questions about the ongoing process. Also, we will be spending many class sessions explaining everything, including the persuasive essay, interview skills and techniques, and how to correctly fill out a job application.
