This week will be devoted to Vocabulary Unit #15 (pages 186 - 193), techniques, style, and strategies of job interviewing, and diagramming of sentences. Most of this week will be concentrating on the Macy's project, with the essay, application and the interviewing at the core of the instruction. "Mock" interviews will take place during some class time to understand the value of good interview skills.
Monday: First 10 minutes, students will be working on Vocabulary Unit # 15 (pages 186-193). This will be completed for homework for the next class meeting. The "interview" will be introduced, with all the necessary skills, strategies and "Dos and Don'ts". Some students, will either, volunteer, or be selected to experience "Mock interviews", which will be "critiqued" after each interview. Diagram sentences will continue.
Tuesday: (Blocks 2, 3 and 5) We will go over the vocabulary homework (pages 186 - 193). We will spend more class time going over diagramming sentences for review. Some time may be given for students to work on their "persuasive essay" in class.
Wednesday: (Blocks 2 and 3) Review for Vocabulary quiz on Friday. Continue with essay and interview skills. More 'mock interviews" will be performed in class) (Block 6) Same as Tuesday's classes.
Thursday: (Blocks 5 and 6) Same as Wednesday's classes.
Friday: Vocabulary quiz # 15 will be administered. Any time remaining...students will work on their essays.
***The Macy's application and persuasive essay are due on Monday, March 16th. There will be some class time allowed to work on these assignments, but, most of the work will take place at home.
THERE WILL BE A "2ND GRADE BAKE SALE" ON TUESDAY, MARCH 10TH. COME AND GET IT! TEACHERS AND STAFF WILL BE BAKING THEIR SPECIAL "GOODIES". I KNOW I WILL BE OFFERING MY "WORLD FAMOUS" BROWNIES. !
